Fairies
A Fey people known less for small stature than for the long memory of promises they make.
Rootbeyond and oath witnessing
Some Fairies are born in Rootbeyond and others have lived in Avarra for generations. Oath witnessing in Moonseed is therefore not authority to open a gate; it establishes which two sides remember a promise. A Fairy may be tied to a free court, but that tie is not hereditary and no court speaks for every Fairy.
Place in Avarra
Moonseed is a small but open settlement in Thorn–Meridian Belt, established around Nareth groves. It is not a separate kingdom viewed from outside; it is a village or quarter node tied to neighbouring roads, markets, and common law.
City life and diaspora
In Elyrakök, Fairies households participate in oath witnessing and threshold gardening without being confined to a single “foreign quarter.” Someone arriving from the village can find kin, an apprenticeship, a guest bed, or a partner; city-born people maintain regular ties to Moonseed.
Living together
Fairies are not reduced to one temperament, profession, or politics. Local agreements, access needs, and safety practices are made explicit so difference remains part of ordinary life. Their visible expertise is oath witnessing and threshold gardening, but it is never anyone’s compulsory destiny.
Adventure ties
- The partnership between Moonseed and Elyrakök can be tested by a cut road or a lost record.
- A family may need mediation between local custom and city law.
- A character may belong to this record through a guild, neighbourhood, or road oath as well as ancestry.
