svirfneblins

The Svirfneblin call themselves Nimrûn. They believe that they are born from echoes within the stone; The open sky is a source of uneasiness for many Nimruns.

Nine Lanterns

The First Light is the place of assembly; The Deep Lens is observation, the Echo Well is law, the Shadow Meter is cartography, and the Last Gleam is the lost city on the border of Stagnation.

Canonical record

Nimruns are known outside as Svirfneblin. They do not consider themselves dwarves or a sub-branch of the surface Gnomes. Each city of Nine Fener has a different civic culture; The Silent Hollow is the non-confederate isolationist tradition.

They rarely use real names in public. Silence means trust, small and shady places mean safety, and providing incomplete maps means responsible information sharing. Clear skies cause serious anxiety for some Nimruns.
