Ilyar’s Unseen Word
Ilyar did not say that God’s face could not be drawn. Ilyar said that every drawn face would eventually begin speaking in place of its owner.
The Unseen Word is a text-centred reform against shrine wealth, prophetic images, and clerical display. Its members do not forbid every image or ornament in the same way; they insist that no object may speak as God’s will.
This has produced hard conflict with Aškari faces and Selmevi shrine treasuries. For Ilyarians, stone is not the central danger; human power hiding behind the stone is. Their opponents say the Unseen Word impoverishes quarter memory, art, and the language of grief.
Ilyari gatherings often happen in plain rooms around open text and reciprocal reading. Their greatest internal dispute is whether the right to read belongs only to educated men or to any member of the community.
