Raveth’s Open Gate Communion
Raveth’s sentence to the exiles is remembered as short: “If the city has closed the gate, God has not.”
The Open Gate Communion is the first great Vardûni way open to those from outside. If God belongs to neither one city nor one lineage, entering the covenant cannot require Vardûn blood. Declaration, shared worship, community testimony, and open acceptance of old burdens form belonging.
The idea created diaspora networks of schools, road houses, hospitals, and guest shrines. It also created hard conflict: Root Covenant Lineages accuse Ravethians of thinning sacred inheritance, while Ravethians say closed communities have made an idol of exile.
Every Open Gate shrine traditionally holds an unlocked side door. It does not mean everyone may simply enter; refuge has conditions that protect the claimant. But a ruler who closes that door must, by shrine law, answer for closing God’s call as well.
