Ayalti’s calendar aligns with the sky only on a few nights each year. Then it can meet the surface, marry, trade, or receive lost kin. Calling those nights treason makes the city’s geography itself a political crime. Moon Threshold, Pale Houses, and Descent Silk depend on that fragile connection.
Table tensions
- The next moon night arrives two weeks early.
- Each knot in the descent silk begins carrying a name missing on the surface.
- A ritual delegation from Vel-Shaar declares that moonlight, not the exiles, will be judged.
