Solkar’s palaces have no roofs: the sky is both witness to the dynasty and enemy to its reservoirs. The city lives through old channels that lift oasis water from terrace to terrace. When the harvest crown is empty or weak, the first thing to fail is not splendour but the daily water of the lower terraces.
City of two crowns
War Terrace holds drill fields, mercenary contracts, and foreign envoys; Harvest Steps carry stores, vineyards, and water shares. Shade Bazaar is a covered arcade where caravans stop at midday and wine and spice trade for water rights. The twins live in one palace but cannot carry the same crown; this rule binds the city’s war power to the limit of its harvest.
Both twins now seek the war crown. With reservoirs weakening, this is plainly more than a family feud: whoever receives the harvest crown will decide which oasis is filled first.
