Rift Lakes and Harbours
Lakes opened by young volcanoes bind their harbours more to wind than sea. Every boat is both cargo vessel and family home.
Table-facing places
- Flying Rope: A Hadozee storehouse linked by rope bridges.
- Star Rest: A small terrace village of Astral Elf sky-readers and guides.
- Ember Roof: A Flamekin quarter of hot-stone ovens.
- Rift Quay: A shared port where Giff captains work heavy freight cranes.
Order and livelihood
Harbour law records the mooring rope rather than the vessel. Hadozee climbing crews, Astral Elf guides, Giff freight workers and Flamekin bakers cross-schedule their watches so none can close the port alone.
Pressure and hooks
The Quay Council protects common cranes; Ash Merchants want a private pier. A rope accident becomes an insurance fight, crane strike and a closed lake route.
- From Star Rest, a lake beacon can be seen in the sky.
- Ember Roof’s ovens go cold together.
- Flying Rope’s eldest knot-master needs help locating a lost family bond.
